Mayer Gordon was admitted to the practice of law in Michigan and the Federal Court in 1975. He established Personal Injury Lawyer Michigan in 1983 in the City of Southfield, Michigan (see contact info). The firm specializes in representing victims of accidental injury, wrongful death, and medical malpractice. Our attorneys also successfully represent Workers Compensation and Social Security Disability Claimants in the State and Federal Administrative Law Tribunal, and are members in good standing with the National Organization of Social Security Claimant's Representatives.


Mayer Gordon, the firm's founder, and Thomas Miller, who was admitted to the State Bar of Michigan and Federal Court practice in 1972, have each earned Martindale-Hubbell's "AV" rating, their highest rating for legal ability and integrity. Mr. Gordon is also listed in Martindale-Hubbell's Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers in their field of practice. Mr. Miller and Mr. Gordon represent victims of a wide range of accidental injuries, medical malpractice and nursing home negligence.

Mitchell Cicurel was admitted to the Michigan and Federal Bars in Michigan in 1990. His practice focuses primarily in the area of workers' compensation and disability insurance claims. He has been highly successful in trial of these matters and in the negotiation of these cases for maximum settlement amounts.

Kathy Sterbling has been a support paralegal in personal injury for the past 32 years. She currently assists Mr. Gordon and Mr. Miller in their direct trial preparation and spearheads their Auto No-Fault and Social Security department, which has over a 90% success rate.
Valeri Sirlin is a paralegal with 18 years experience in personal injury, workers' compensation and social security cases. She currently assists Mr. Miller and Mr. Gordon in preparation of the initial stages of litigation.
Carol Ball is the executive secretary to Mr. Miller and Mr. Gordon and has over 10 years legal experience who assists them in litigation and docket management.
Chris Fortney is a relatively new addition to our staff who renders invaluable assistance in obtaining medical records, official reports and other investigative documents necessary to support successful litigation.
Kathy Maretti, a legal secretary to Mitchell Cicurel, also has over 10 years of experience in the legal profession. She assists Mr. Cicurel in the preparation and management of the workers' compensation docket.

Margaret Mowbray has a wealth of experience in the legal business in accounting areas and serves as the firms bookkeeper and administrator.
